in the crotch

impaled on broom handle
scarecrow
hold to Jesus

my cornfield sold insurance
lit sheared
husk

raccoon squirrel
join
charred forest

sharp wire past August
weed
shriveled harvest

and a fake chorus
crescendo
converting dearth

revert
blank stare
content of

earth
