Herculaneum

Bones
Buried in time and ash.
Uncovered with brushes,
Stacked, referenced.
Photographed,
And debated
By prurient experts.

Souls
Meandering in time and ash.
Musing at the brushers,
The stackers, and the experts.
Remembering,
The scent of harvest vineyards,
And the sweetness of soft-lipped kisses.
