Town Square

by
Hayley Goodchild

Everyone is fantasizing about dying in town square

in a mass termination of laughter

so the walls ring of silence and bitterness

that's my chance to capture dead hearts in song & dance

and I'll tap my toes amidst the bodies

careful to mind the cashmere scarf that strangled the one in pink.

Hayley Goodchild is a starving artist from the Great White North.
